Due to this incident, many news channels and reporters were not allowed on the grounds of ‘Kisan Andolan’ and their coverings were not considered to be ‘Kisan Samarpit’. During all this confusion, one man rose to the challenge and presented the ‘Kisan Andolan’ with impartiality and with trusted facts. He earned the farmers trust which had he’s videos become the most trusted ones to report, which were seen by millions of viewers. This person is Ajit Anjum.

Ajit Anjum is a senior journalist and writer who worked at News 24 and India TV as managing editor. He started his career while pursing his studies at Muzaffarpur. While working as a local reporter at ‘Patliputra Times’, he changed his name from ‘Ajit Kumar’ to ‘Ajit Anjum’. He also worked as a freelance journalist in Patna. He also wrote for Dharmyug, Saptaahik Hindustaan, Dinmaan and Ravivar. In 1998, he came to Delhi and started working for Amar Ujala.

Ajit entered BAG films in 1994 as the director of a talk show hosted by journalist Rajeev Shukla, ‘Rubaru.’ He hosted several famous BAG film shows, where he spent fifteen years working. Ajit worked as a senior producer at Aaj Tak. In 2007, he rejoined BAG Films and successfully launched News 24. In 2014, Ajit quit News 24 and joined India TV as their managing director. it was indeed Ajit Anjum who conceptualized Celebrity News shows such as Red Alert, Sansani and Pol Khol.

Ajit Anjum was born on April 7, 1969 in Begusarai district of Bihar while he also got his early education at Begusarai and Darbhanga. From Langat Singh College, Muzaffarpur, affiliated to Bihar University, he obtained his bachelor’s degree. His father, Ramsagar Prasad Singh was in Bihar Judical Services who got his retirement, serving as District and session judge at Patna.

For a brief period of time, he worked as consulting editor at TV9 Bharatvarsh. He hosted the show ‘Rashtriya Bahas’ where he raised the issues which most concerned the public. He was impartial in his practical journalism which made him quite admired among colleges. Leaders like Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Munmun Sen had to run in the middle interview as they could not bear his questions.

On News 24, Ajit led a ‘Rahat lekar Bihar Chalo’ initiative that culminated in 100 massive amounts of relief supplies reaching the survivors. Fem magazine included him in the 50 most influential people of Bihar in its survey conducted in 2016, taking into account his contributions.

For his service during the catastrophic flood in Bihar in 2010, Ajit was awarded the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award which in the most prestigious award in India in the field of journalism. It is awarded for recognition of courage and commitment and showcase the outstanding contributions of journalists from across the country.
